Quality. Quality is a word that really matters. It’s the thing that makes something stand out from the crowd and separates it from the sea of imitators. And when it comes to vitamins, nutrients and wellbeing there’s so much different stuff out there that it becomes hard to know who to trust.

How can you ever know that a product is really, top-quality through and through? It’s one of the questions that our customers ask us the most and rightly so. We live in a world where it seems like everything we eat, drink, wear and use has been processed, altered and streamlined to the point of total abstraction.

Sadly, the answer is that for the large part, you just can’t. When it comes time to make these decisions most people we talk to tell us that the best way to find this out is still word of mouth. A real-life recommendation from a friend, colleague or family member makes all the difference.

Our Approach

At Vegavero we listened, and we came up with the bright idea that the best thing we could do was let you do the talking . Our customers come from all walks of life and they use our products for a thousand different reasons.

We might be committed to plant-based nutrition but that doesn’t mean that all our products are vegan. Far from it.  At the end of the day it people use our products because they have the best nutritional profile. It comes down to one common denominator and it’s something people have known for millennia.

The only nutritional products you can really trust are the ones that grow out of the ground.

This, however, left us with a problem. How do we talk about ourselves as a company? Sure, our products are vegan and they always will be. Yet it’s part of who we are to be there for everybody, regardless of age, diet or gender.

We know that when people are given honest information in a straightforward way they will be inclined to pay attention. So that’s exactly what we did. We took away all the labels and focused on the quality.

Call us crazy but we think that most people actually don’t enjoy a completely saturated lifestyle of convenience and marketing.

Our Solution

Our answer is to take a step back. We’re not going to tell you why our product is better than the next one because we know that realistically, nobody is listening. Instead we decided to focus on the information. To show people high-quality alternatives and let you make your mind up yourselves. We call it facts over fluff.

When we started our company, we had a few major goals to work by and one of the most important ones was transparency.

For us, transparency is all about letting you make the call. No jargon and no big budget adverts. Just good products, good information and good service.

We open up our doors and trust that you will like what you see. We have enough confidence in ourselves and our products that we shouldn’t have to advertise all day long.

Like we said. Facts over fluff.

So, to answer the question: How do you know you’re getting a quality product? It goes a little something like this.

Our Process

First and foremost, we want to talk to you. Thats because we want to know exactly what you want and what you need. Then we take your wish list to Martin (our senior nutritional scientist and head honcho of product development). Who – in his infinite wisdom – sends our team out to the four corners of the globe. Where we source only the finest products from the best suppliers.

Be it organic Matcha from Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan or our four-root Maca from the lofty Andean steppes of Peru. We won’t settle for anything less than the best and that’s why all our suppliers are 100% certified and quality tested.

Whilst this may sound obvious, the process is not always so straightforward and because of that, there are many companies who choose to sidestep the problem.

Solving Problems

Take our Organic Japanese Matcha for example: Located high among the mountains of Aichi are the gardens in which our tea is grown. The Matcha plant is incredibly sensitive and must be grown in the shade to encourage the proper concentration of chlorophyll that lends the tea its vivid emerald tones. Imagine then the difficulty of growing a commercial quantity of Matcha, on top of a mountain, in the shade, without any chemical fertilisers and you get a small picture of our process.

As our colleagues in Japan put it so beautifully: “Kagoshima and Aichi tea gardens are blessed with nature in beautiful mountains. Japan is a beautiful country full of variety, the taste of tea depends on the rich nature of Japan and the charm of the seasons.”

This tea, really, is the amalgamation of a number of factors. Physical labour, tender care and generation upon generation of expertise in cultivation and preparation.

And honestly, we’re pretty proud of it.

The work, however, doesn’t stop there. Once we have our product we bring it here, to Germany, where we perform our own tests. Content analysis, pesticide analysis and quality assurance. Anything that doesn’t make the grade is sent back and we start all over again.

Our Promise

There aren’t really so many rules here at vegavero but one of them says this: we will only put a product on the market if we are completely satisfied that it’s the best it can be. It’s only when the last of our checks have been made that we move into production. For that we sometimes need the help of our local community partners Dolphin to package and ship the finished article direct to your door.

Yes, we’re strict, and that doesn’t always come cheap, but we won’t sacrifice that because that is how we earn your trust. If we ever forget that then that means we stopped listening and let our standards slip, we don’t ever want to get naïve because that means that we stopped trying to get better.

By letting you in on what we’re doing at every step of the way then we’re not just telling you; we’re showing you that we know that quality really matters. It’s the intangible buffer that straddles indifference and satisfaction and without it we would have never made it as far as we have.

So no, we might not be the biggest players on the market just yet. But for now we’re quietly confident that we’re heading in the right direction.
